Members

Board Members shall serve a three (3) year term. Of the first seven (7) members appointed by the City Council, two (2) shall be appointed for one (1) year, two (2) shall be appointed for two (2) years, and three (3) shall be appointed for three (3) years. Thereafter, the members shall serve three (3) year staggered terms. Members may be appointed to an unlimited number of terms at the discretion of City Council and hold their position until their successor is appointed by the City Council, unless they are removed by City Council or they resign. Board Members may be removed at the sole discretion of the City Council.

Mission

Serve in an advisory capacity to City Council on issues relating to the planning and coordination of recreational and cultural programs, parks, events, senior programming, and other leisure activities.

Recommend priorities for the development, planning, maintenance, and operation of existing and future public parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, recreation centers, greenways, and other recreation facilities that are owned, operated or planned by the City.
