  • Non-Regulated (Type A): $25
  • Regulated (Type B): $45

Both the City and the County collect these fees on an annual basis. All BTRs expire on September 30, in accordance with Florida Statutes Chapter 205. Fees may be prorated at 50% for new applicants whose start date falls between April 1 and September 30.

Business Taxes

Florida Statute 205.053(1) imposes a delinquency penalty for business taxes renewed after September 30th of each year, as follows:

  • 10% penalty if renewed in October
  • 15% penalty if renewed in November
  • 20% penalty if renewed in December
  • 25% maximum penalty if renewed after December 31

If you are unsure if your business is a permitted use for the location, please contact our Zoning Division at 407-971-5759. You must first verify if your business is located within the city limits of Oviedo by accessing the Seminole County Property Appraisers Office. To request a business tax receipt application, please select the new application link above or email: businesslicenses@cityofoviedo.net.

You may also request a pre-application meeting by calling 407-971-5796. These meetings are held every Wednesday afternoon and should be scheduled and confirmed one week before the meeting date.
