Building Services
Mission Statement
The mission of the Building Services Division is to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Oviedo through the adoption and enforcement of building standards that impact public health, safety and welfare; and through the implementation and regulation of zoning standards.
Responsibilities
Building Services is responsible for the permitting and review of all building construction plans and specifications for compliance with state, federal and local codes; and for conducting inspections applicable to the approved plans.
Per Florida Statute 5 53. 80(7)(b) the governing body of a local government that provides a schedule of fees shall create a building permit and inspection
utilization report and post the report on its website.
1. Direct and indirect costs incurred by the local government to enforce the Florida Building Code, including costs related to:
a) Personnel services costs, including salary and related employee benefits incurred by the local government to enforce the Florida Building Code.* $0
