The City of Oviedo Public Works Department is introducing a new, fun and exciting way to get back into nature and submit what you see! We are tracking the wildlife in the area through an interactive map called "Wildlife Whereabouts," where our native species are mapped. Your photos can be submitted and pinned to the map. This is a great way to get the kids active and excited about finding nature and wildlife.
Head to the City's STORMWATER PAGE to see the interactive map of Floodplain Habitats and Wildlife. Scroll down and you'll see active wildlife you and the family can search for!
Of course, we want you to stay at a SAFE distance from active wildlife. Please do not invade their nests or natural surroundings to get a close-up picture. Please do not tamper with eggs or offspring (it is against the law) or attempt to feed the wildlife. Some animals, such as alligators, bears and snakes, can be dangerous, even deadly, if you attempt to get too close. If you see them, please remain safe, do not attempt to get a reaction, stir them up, feed them, or get up close.
You can head to the form on your phone, laptop or desktop here to submit what you saw! SUBMIT YOUR FORM AND PHOTOS HERE
