The Office of Public Information handles internal and external communications for the City. The Public Information Officer (PIO) is responsible for press releases, social media, event promotion, and working with local and national media partners to disseminate important news and information to the public.
The PIO handles the City's website and social media channels that include: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and NextDoor to promote events, share breaking news situations, and create an overall sense of community for residents, business owners, and visitors.
The PIO handles all media inquiries and arranges television, radio, newspaper, and magazine interview requests.
Through strategic communications, the PIO provides accurate and timely information to the public during emergencies or natural disasters. Messaging includes prevention, helpful information, necessary phone numbers, and websites for help during any given situation.
