Oviedo Fire Department EMS Billing
The City of Oviedo Fire Department provides Basic and Advanced Life Support pre-hospital care. We also provide transport service to area hospitals and collect payment from your Commercial Insurance Carrier, Vehicle Insurance Carrier, Commercial Health Insurance Carrier, Workman Compensation Carrier, Veteran Insurance Provider, Medicare, Medicaid, and from the Patient for the co-pay responsibility.
We make every attempt to collect proper health care information to invoice your health care provider(s) and assure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local practices for insurance collections and medical confidentiality.

Oviedo Fire Department EMS Community Involvement Programs
Community Paramedicine
The City of Oviedo Fire Department has established a Community Paramedicine Program to serve our city residents. Often, patients need additional assistance beyond the scope of the traditional 9-1-1 EMS systems. If you or someone you know needs help with any of the following items, we are here to help.

The Community Paramedic will work with the patient or family members to provide them access to the resources they need to help them manage the condition or situation on their own. Our goal is to help you be able to help yourself.

Sharps Container Program
The City of Oviedo Fire Department EMS, in cooperation with Seminole County Environmental Services, provides free Sharp Containers for residential customers to dispose of medical syringes. The Sharp Container Program offers a container available for pickup at any of our Fire Station locations or the Fire Administration Office. To qualify for the program, you must be a resident of Seminole County and reside within the city limits of Oviedo or any other Seminole County city.
Visit any Oviedo Fire Station to acquire your free container and/or bring your filled container for disposal. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 7 days a week, at the Fire Stations. You may also visit the Oviedo Fire Department Administration Building from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. If the Fire Station is not occupied at the time of your visit, you may visit the other Fire Station or the Administration Office, or come back at a later time.
Request a Fire or EMS/Medical Report
The City of Oviedo Fire Department generates an incident report for every call for service, including fire and medical responses. We comply with the Florida Record Keeping and Retention Act and Public Disclosure Law, HIPAA, and other applicable medical confidentiality parameters. To obtain a copy of an Oviedo Fire or EMS report, please contact our office at 407-971-5611 or visit our main office, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please call ahead so we can locate the report before your arrival. Reports may be delayed if they are awaiting completion or missing information.
EMS and Medical Report Disclaimer
EMS or Medical Reports are restricted in disclosure in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). To obtain a complete copy of an EMS or Medical Report, you must demonstrate proof of the following:
- You are the patient listed on the EMS/Medical Report. Picture ID required.
- You must sign in person for the report after showing proper identification.
- We cannot fax an EMS/Medical Report to comply with HIPAA legislation.
- If the patient is a minor, or you are the legal custodian of an orphan, the elderly, or other circumstance, you must provide legal documentation for our review.
- An EMS/Medical Report may also be obtained by a court order or by providing legal authorization through a law firm representing you as a client.
- We are unable to release health information over the phone, by email, fax, text, or other electronic methods, as these are insecure networks that may be accessible to others.
- These procedures are required in order to comply with the HIPAA and other medical confidentiality legislation to assure the protection of your private health care information. We appreciate your understanding as we comply with federal law.
