Chief Woodward is extremely honored and excited for the opportunity to serve as the Fire Chief for the Oviedo Fire Department. He looks forward to continuing to foster positive relationships between the exceptional members of the Oviedo Fire Department, City, and community while exceeding the demands of our beautiful, thriving city and always striving to improve the outstanding service to Oviedo residents.
Chief Woodward spent the first part of his fire service career as a volunteer firefighter with the Mims Volunteer Fire Department in the early 1990s. In April 1995, Woodward began his career with the City of Titusville Fire Department as a probationary firefighter.
During his career with Titusville Fire Department, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, Battalion Chief, Operations Chief and spent the last 10 years as Fire Chief before retiring with more than 26 years of service. He has an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science, a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science, and a Master of Public Administration degree. He also obtained his State of Florida Paramedic Certification, Florida Fire Officer 1 Certification, Florida Pump Operator Certification, Florida Fire Instructor 3 Certification, and Florida Live Fire Training Instructor Certification. In April 2021, he achieved credentialing as a Chief Fire Officer from the Center for Public Safety Excellence.
He has been happily married to his beautiful wife Stacey for the past 23 years and counting and has two wonderful children Jessica and Jaydon who are both currently enrolled in college and are due to graduate in the near future. When not working, he loves to spend time with his family, fish and takes in a game of golf on occasion.
