Drug-Free and Tobacco-Free Workplace

The City of Oviedo is a drug-free and tobacco-free workplace. When an applicant is offered employment, it is conditional upon successfully passing a nicotine and/or drug test, which screens for the presence of nicotine, controlled substances, narcotic drugs, and alcohol. Refusal to take the test or failure to pass the test according to minimum standards, is cause for disqualification. If employed, the City may require subsequent drug tests. Refusal or failure to pass the test according to minimum standards will result in termination.
