About:
Start Smart is a six-week program that helps children (ages 3 to 5 years) develop the basic motor skills needed to participate in organized sports along with the confidence to perform those skills in a competitive setting. It promotes parent-child bonding since the parent works with their child in a supervised setting, helping them learn skills while having fun doing so. Benefits for the participants include:
- Building confidence and self-esteem in each child

- Helps prepare youth for future sports participation
- Quality time together for parent and child
- Helps parents learn how to support and teach their child
Cost:
The class fees are as follows:
- $75 for Resident Members
- $95 for Resident Non-Members

Class Levels and Times
Ages 8 and above can enjoy learning Olympic style archery in a program developing friendship and sportsmanship.
Class Schedule - Saturdays
- Level 1 (Beginners): 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
- Level 2 (Intermediate): 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
- Level 3 (Advanced): 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
*While adults are allowed and encouraged to register, beginner participants are mostly youth and class instruction is geared as such. While you must complete beginner to advanced course levels, adult participants may be advanced prior to level completion based on instructor's discretion.

ONLINE REGISTRATION
Oviedo Recreation Youth Basketball allows youth from age five and up to develop the fundamentals of basketball, build relationships, learn teamwork, be physically active, and have fun! Youth Basketball is divided up by age group in the following age groups:
5/6 Division Recreational Division: This division will be strictly instructional and fun! Playing time is guaranteed. Teams will be formed by the Recreation Coordinator. All participants will receive a participation award for their performance and hard work. The score will not be kept for the 5/6 Division.
8U, 10U, 12U, 15U Recreational Divisions: These divisions will concentrate on the fundamental skills while being more strict on the rules of the game. Playing time is guaranteed. Players will be evaluated at the skills assessment. Coaches will choose teams using a snake drafting system. Players will receive a participation medal for their performance and hard work. Trophies will be given to the league champion and runner-up at the conclusion of the playoffs.
All games will be played on Saturdays at either Oviedo Gymnasium or a surrounding area facility.
Games Schedule For Recreational Division:
There will be a total of 7 guaranteed games - 7 regular season games and 1 guaranteed playoff game. Playoff seeding will be determined by regular season record.

ONLINE REGISTRATION
The Oviedo Recreation and Parks Department offers its NFL Youth Flag Football program two seasons a year: Fall and Spring.
Oviedo NFL Flag is the premier 5-on-5 youth flag football league for boys and girls ages 6 to 14. This recreational program provides young players with a fun and exciting opportunity to engage in non-contact, continuous action while learning lessons in teamwork.
League Information
Age Verification:
Birth Certificate is required upon registration. Players will be placed in the appropriate division, unless noted that a player wishes to play up in a particular division.
*Children MUST meet the following minimum ages by the first game in order to be eligible:
6-8: Minimum age of 5
9-11: Minimum age of 8
12-14: Minimum age of 11
*** Players are not eligible to play in a younger division. For example, if you turn 9 before the first game you will not be eligible to play in the 6-8 division.

The Oviedo Recreation and Parks NFL flag football league currently offers three divisions for the league: 6-8, 9-11, and 12-14. Players interested in participating in this program can register during the operating hours at the Oviedo Gymnasium and Aquatic Facility.

ONLINE REGISTRATION
Oviedo Youth Volleyball allows youth from ages 8 - 17 to develop the fundamentals of volleyball, build relationships, learn teamwork, be physically active, and have fun! Oviedo Youth Volleyball is divided up by age group in the following age groups:
10U, 13U, 17U, Recreational Divisions: These Divisions are designed to foster the fundamental skills of volleyball, ensuring that every player gets ample playing time. Each participant will be evaluated on the player ratings day and teams will be formed based upon these assessments. We believe in recognizing and celebrating every participant's effort, which is why all players will receive a participation award for their performance and hard work. Additionally, league champions will be honored at the conclusion of the playoffs. We welcome all children who meet the minimum age requirements to join us in this exciting volleyball journey.
13U, 17U, Select Divisions: Coaches must submit a completed roster (8 player minimum) and have all players registered by the Select roster deadline. All players on the roster must be currently registered to be eligible.

- All games will be held at the Oviedo Gymnasium.
- All players must be 18 years or older to participate.
- All players must sign and be on the team roster in order to play (6 players minimum, 20 players maximum.
- All teams must have matching, like-colored shirts with large, clearly legible numbers on the back of their shirts.
- Game forfeiture policy: Any team that forfeits a game will be charged the appropriate fee unless prior notice is given 48 hours in advance.
- Games will be on Sundays between 9 am and 3 pm.
- There are 12 teams in total.

- All umpires are ASA certified.
- Trophies are presented to Regular Season Champions, Post Season Champions and Post Season Runner-ups.
- T-shirts are awarded to Tournament Champions.

Triathlon training
If you've ever wanted to experience a triathlon, the City of Oviedo offers a training program! It is geared towards beginners, but all experience levels are welcome if you want to get your practice on. This is a 12-week program that only costs $50 a month!
Practice Days and Times are as follows:
- BIKE: Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
- SWIM: Wednesday at 6 p.m.
- RUN/WALK: Fridays at 5:30 p.m.

Lesson Information
Both private and group tennis lessons are being offered by tennis coach Bobby Cashman at Riverside Park. Learn the basic fundamentals and exercise in a fun and healthy environment.
Group Lessons
Group lesson fees are $20 per person per hour or $27 per person for 1.5 hours and a minimum of 5 players are necessary to form a group.
Private Lessons
Private lessons are available in 30 minutes and 1 hour time periods.
- 30 minute lessons cost $37.50; 1 hour lessons cost $75
