DECLARATION OF LOCAL STATE OF EMERGENCY - CITY OF OVIEDO
Current Situation
Hurricane Idalia has moved out of the State of Florida and there are no further watches or warnings for Seminole County. Lingering showers may remain through the afternoon/evening. A wind advisory remains in place.
Oviedo EOC
The City of Oviedo Emergency Operation Center is at a Partial Activation Level 2. City officials are monitoring the storm and will advise of further activation. The City Hotline has not been activated.

Please call the City Main phone number at 407-971-5550. This line is manned Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If you have an emergency when storms roll in, please call 9-1-1.

OFFICE CLOSING
City Offices will be closed to the public on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Offices will re-open Thursday, August 31 at 8 a.m.
PARKS/FACILITIES CLOSING
Recreation and Parks Facilities will be closed on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 and will re-open Thursday, August 31 at 8 a.m.
There will be NO outdoor activities Tuesday, August 29th at Shane Kelly Park and the Oviedo Sports Complex.
SANDBAG OPERATIONS
Starting August 31st, residents can return sandbags to 1725 Evans Street. A pallet will be left at the front gate to place the bags on. Please stack them on the pallet. Returning the sandbags is not a requirement. Residents are welcome to keep the bags or use the dirt in the bags to fill low spots or for planting. The city used cleaned dirt to fill the bags.

The City of Oviedo has tornado and lightning sirens across the community. If you hear the Tornado Alarm, that is the time to seek shelter immediately.

DEBRIS
If you have storm debris in your yard, please place it with the regular yard waste pickup for WastePro. There will not be separate debris pick-up in Oviedo due to the the storm.
GARBAGE
Please be aware of the following changes Waste Pro has made to their garbage pickup. Due to Hurricane Idalia and the impacts it will have in Oviedo, there have been changes made to the schedule this week.
There will be NO pickup on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
Wednesday pickup will move to Thursday, August 31.
Thursday pickup will move to Friday, September 1.
Friday pickup will move to Saturday, September 2.
SCHOOL CLOSURES
Seminole County Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
