Aulin Avenue Stormwater and Roadway Improvements ProjectStormwater and roadway improvements are underway on Aulin Avenue from Clark Street, southwest to the end (cul-de-sac). The project has reached Substantial Completion, and Final Completion is anticipated in June 2013. The contractor, Barracuda Building Corporation, is scheduled to work between the hours of 7am and 5pm Monday through Friday. All traffic will be maintained throughout the project but intermittent single lane closures may occur. Residential and commercial access will be coordinated by the contractor during periods of work in and around driveways. Please contact Dave Waller at (407) 971-5667 or via e-mail at dwaller@cityofoviedo.net if you have any questions or concerns.Northern Lift Station Re-RouteThe acquisition and incorporation of new service areas necessitated the need for updates to the City's Wastewater Master Plan which was updated and adopted by City Council on April 2, 2012. The most significant capital improvement to the Wastewater System is the interconnection of the original City Wastewater System with the "Alafaya" System. The Northern Lift Station Re-route Project is the first phase of this interconnection. This project will re-route lift station flows from stations primarily north of Mitchell Hammock Road, with force main additions on Mitchell Hammock Road and Alafaya Woods Boulevard to existing "Alafaya" infrastructure for conveyance to the treatment facility. Construction is anticipated to begin on April 29, 2013 and the project will be substantially complete in 180 days. Beginning Monday, June 10th, there will be intermittent sidewalk and single-lane closures along Alafaya Woods Blvd., from Mitchell Hammock Rd. to McKinnon Ave., while pipe installation continues. FY 2012/13 Asphalt Resurfacing Various City StreetsOn May 6, 2013, Resolution No. 2656-13 was adopted, which authorized annual road resurfacing. To view the list of streets that are scheduled for alphalt resurfacing this fical year, please click HERE. The FY 2012-13 Annual Roadway Resurfacing Project will begin on Monday, June 17th. Roadway resurfacing will include milling existing roadway and laying asphalt. Some areas require laying asphalt only and no milling. Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) may require intermittent delays during the resurfacing activities. The contractor is anticipating this project will be completed within 3 to 4 weeks, weather permitting. After the asphalt has been placed for 30 days, a separate contractor will place thermoplastic for striping.
