Medication Disposal Program (Non-Narcotic)
The City of Oviedo Fire Rescue Department offers a "Medication Disposal Program" which allows Oviedo residents to dispose of medications (non-narccotic medications only) at our Fire Administration Office located at 1934 CR 419 West, behind Fire Station 3. The program is for residential customers only and does not include physician offices, nursing or assisted living facilities, pharamacys, or any other commerical business.
The Medication Disposal Program was developed to offer you an opportunity to properly dispose of prescribed medications (non-narcotic). An alarming number of teenagers are discovering that prescription medications are easily available to them from their own home medicine storage cabinet and are not aware of the health risk of taking prescribed medications not intended for thier use. Now you have a method of disposing of unused medications or perhaps those that are out of date or no longer needed for those individual health needs. In addition, following the passing of a family member we are asked to dispose of those prescribed medications in a safe manner. This program is designed specifically for that purpose as well. Disposal of medications in the sanitary sewer or household garbage is not recommended!
This program is for residential customers only and excludes physician office, clinic, or any other health care facility. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8AM to 5 PM. For more information, please contact our main office at 407-971-5611.
NARCOTIC MEDICATION DISPOSAL PROGRAM
You may also dispose of any Narcotic Medications at the Oviedo Police Department Main Lobby located at 300 Alexandria Blvd, Oviedo 32765 from 8 am to 5 pm. A self deposit self serve Medication Disposal Container is located inside the main Police Department Lobby and all narcotic (pain and other medications) may be disposed at this location. As a reminder, these type of medications may not be disposed at the Oviedo Fire Administration Office or Fire Stations.
